Organic gardening classes start Saturday

Organic gardening classes hosted by Slow Food Baton Rouge

Slow Food Baton Rouge is hosting a two-part organic gardening class this Saturday, Oct. 3, and next Saturday, Oct. 10. The class, taught by LSU AgCenter professor Carl Motsenbocker, will teach the basics of organic gardening. “Organic gardening, or ecological gardening, is not new,” Motsenbocker recently told inRegister. “It has been practiced for thousands of years throughout the world.” Organic gardening uses natural materials rather than synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, with a goal of making the garden sustainable. Read inRegister’s recent full interview with Motsenbocker here and find out more about the class here.
