Kayak demo Saturday

Questions about kayaks? The Backpacker is hosting a free demonstration this Saturday, June 13, beginning at 10 a.m. at BREC’s Wampold Memorial Park at University Lake. More than a dozen models of kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddle boards will be available to try out. Though Saturday’s event is contingent on the weather, private consultations are also available at other times. Call 925-2667 with questions.

Try Area 51

With a new workout routine that’s as fun as it looks, indoor trampoline park Area 51 will have you feeling the burn the next day. The facility features more than 60 connected trampolines, and there’s more than one way to burn those calories. Try dodgeball, basketball, bounce boards, foam pits and more. Area 51 opened this spring. Find it at The Grove, across from the Mall of Louisiana.
