Historic Highland Road Gardens

The LSU Hilltop Arboretum is hosting its second spring garden tour, dubbed “Historic Highland Road Gardens,” this Sunday, May 3, from 1 to 5 p.m. Featured gardens are located along the scenic byway in picturesque neighborhoods including Highland Ridge, Myrtle Hill and Knox Hill. A selection of plants will be for sale at the LSU Hilltop Arboretum for the duration of the tours. Tickets are $20 and available at the Arboretum, online or at each garden Sunday.

Grand opening at American Factory Direct

American Factory Direct Furniture Outlets is hosting a grand opening sale next week, May 8 through May 11. The store, which sells mattresses, recliners and home accent pieces in addition to furniture, is hosting its grand opening celebration Saturday, May 9, with complimentary barbecue from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The celebration includes hourly giveaways. The store is located at 9555 Airline Hwy.
