Signature Wedding: Selby Kean & Mason Thompson

March 3, 2018

“Because we live in Baton Rouge, where I’m from, we thought it would be special to marry in Houma, where Mason is from,” says Selby. “We decided to have our ceremony and reception on a family property that is along a slip of water leading to the Intracoastal Canal.”

And while weather is always a gamble for outdoor weddings, Selby says the spring ceremony and reception went off without a hitch.

“Mason’s grandmother sent me a photo of the weather forecast for the week of and I will always remember it showing Saturday as 70 degrees and sunny, with the word ‘gorgeous’ underneath,” she recalls. “And gorgeous it was! The whole process really was. I drew up my vision for the day and our families spent countless hours putting the weekend together. I am forever indebted to Margo Bouanchaud and Lance Hayes for tying everything together. They brought in details I didn’t even have down on paper, and really allowed me, my husband, my family and my friends to indulge on our special day.”
