Dressed to Impress: Step inside Brittney Fusilier’s designer-inspired custom closet
Brittney Fusilier‘s vision for her new closet combined symmetry and functionality. But when it all came together, the final product exceeded all of her expectations.
For Fusilier, the goal was to transform her daily routine of getting dressed into a curated experience. She envisioned a space that felt less like a closet and more like a trip to Chanel or Dior, she says.
“I wanted it to be something that got me excited to get dressed and go shopping in my own closet,” she says.

To ditch the dread of a cluttered closet, the project blends high-functioning organization with a feminine, gold and white aesthetic. Custom millwork and hidden doors minimize visual noise, while a display wall showcases her shoe collection. The addition of a mirror wall and calculated lighting creates a luminous stage.
“It’s something I would’ve prayed for but didn’t know I could ever get it,” Fusilier says.
Custom builds by Manchac Homes and Door and Cabinet, along with expert selections by interior designer Jeff Taaffe bring the space together and blend it seamlessly with the rest of the home.
“They blew it out of the park,” Fusilier says. “I was pleasantly surprised by how well everything was tied in. Everyone worked together to make it cohesive.”
Fusilier says the closet has been a game-changer in how she functions as a busy mom of four. The fitting room has become her “woman cave,” where she can sit and stay a while. A white settee offers a place to relax. And the sleek, rectangular ottoman that anchors the room also serves as a functional perch for putting on shoes.
Now, instead of simply holding clothes, her closet is an oasis where she can decompress throughout the day.
“I used to dread getting ready because I never knew where anything was,” she says. “But now if I have Lagree, for example, I can go into the active wear section and pull exactly what I want. I can see everything, and nothing is tucked away.”
Brittney Fusilier says this closet has turned her dream home into something beyond her wildest dreams.
“It’s something I would’ve prayed for but didn’t know I could ever get it,” she says. “To have a vision in your head and to see it come to life and it be better than you could’ve ever imagined is great.”
