Three local families have found paradise in their backyards. From outdoor fryers to two-tiered pools, the outdoor spaces of Elise and Jimmy Lalonde, Amy and Jeff Echols, and Jack Marucci and Janet Deal include elements that are close to the hearts of the residents and their familial history.

“My grandfather immigrated from Italy and start a restaurant in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Everything we do revolves around food,” explains Marucci, who has a wood-burning pizza oven in his backyard. “We always make pizza when the kids come home. That should be everybody’s birthday cake.”
