The Nutcracker

The holiday classic The Nutcracker: A Tale from the Bayou is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 20, and Sunday, Dec. 21, at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. The Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre accompanied by the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra will once again re-create the story through music and dance, incorporating local landmarks into the production. Ice-skating downtown

It’s time to get on the ice and glide into skating season. Ice-skating at the Baton Rouge River Center opens Friday, Dec. 19, at 5:30 p.m.; the first 250 skaters will receive free admission. Sessions each 75 minutes in length will be available until Jan. 4. For more information, call 389-3030. Tickets are $12 each.
