Orchid show and sale this weekend

The Baton Rouge Orchid Society is hosting its annual show and sale this weekend, Saturday, July 11, and Sunday, July 12, at the Baton Rouge Garden Center, 7950 Independence Blvd. The orchid show opens at 9 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday. Those who go will have the chance to chat with horticultural experts, view award-winning orchid displays, and buy direct from commercial growers.

Looking to learn how to pot? Bring a plant and a container and you’ll do just that! Potting mixes can be purchased from the vendors, and workshops will be held every hour. Children are welcome to attend; a kiddie corner will be available.

The Baton Rouge Orchid Society is a nonprofit organization devoted to the expansion of knowledge, culture, propagation, use and appreciation of orchids. Monthly meetings are held at the Garden Center. Vendors from Texas, Florida, Baton Rouge, Thibodaux, Dallas, Breax Bridge and more will be at the show.
