Warm weather adventures

Learn to safely maneuver through underwater settings in Seven Seas’ 13-foot indoor heated pool. It drops vertically from the 4-foot shallow end, teaching students how pressure affects ears as well as equipment. Certification complete, take your newly acquired diving and snorkeling skills to destinations as close as the Gulf Coast or as far as the South Pacific. Located on One Calais Avenue, Seven Seas holds classes for adults as well as for children.

A relaxing, nighttime kayak, canoe or paddleboard ride is part of the agenda for BREC’s Paddle Up program. After you master the use of a sea kayak at the Liberty Lagoon Family Aquatics Center during the first course, the second is a more challenging evening adventure at University Lake, lit only by the moon and the stars. Master that and move on to the third and final level, a two-hour journey down the Comite River. Pre-registration is required.
