Signature Wedding: Christy Davisson and Will Atkinson

“Will and I are both from Louisiana, but we had a chance meeting on April Fools’ Day at the Varsity Theatre while Will was home on spring break from Boyce College in Kentucky,” explains Christy. “I had just graduated from LSU and was moving to Los Angeles in two months to pursue a master’s degree at USC. We talked the whole night, and Will asked me out on a date for the next day. We completely hit it off and knew we wanted to keep dating after I moved to the West Coast.”

After months of FaceTiming and road trips, the couple had no doubts that they were meant to spend their lives together.

“Will proposed after taking me canoeing on my family’s lake at sunset and reading a poem that he wrote,” she recalls. “We were looking for a rustic venue with farmhouse vibes, and we immediately fell in love with The White Magnolia. Lavender has always been my favorite color and flower, so we decided to pair it with gold and forest green as our color palette. As we entered our first dance, our wedding party tossed handfuls of lavender buds over us.”

Continuing the theme of nature, which Christy says was important to both her and Will, the couple incorporated as many floral accents as possible, as well as a special addition to their ceremony.

“Our favorite part of the wedding was our unity ceremony, where we took soil from both of our parents’ houses and planted an olive tree,” Christy explains. “The whole day was absolutely beautiful and will always be one or my brightest memories.”
