High-school girls affected by the recent flooding will have something to smile about this fall as they try on and take home formal and semi-formal dresses donated by members of the community through the Hope for Homecoming dress drive. Several local shops are serving as drop-off points for the drive, and they’re offering discounts to those who bring in a dress. The dresses will be distributed at 1 p.m. on September 18 at St. Joseph’s Academy. Partnering boutiques offering discounts to donors include Soirée, Currie, Swap, H Kyle Boutique, Bustle, Hey Penelope, Head over Heels, Bella Bella and Mingle.

This Saturday, Sept. 3, The Backpacker is having a cash only sale with all proceeds benefiting Habitat For Humanity’s flood relief efforts. The sale will begin at 9 a.m. and last until noon at the Baton Rouge location.

This Friday and Saturday, Sept. 2 and 3, Blush Formal and Bridal will host a trunk show with Allure Bridals. The show will feature designs from the Fall 2016 collection.
