Interior designer Kenneth Brown will offer guided tours and personal design tips to visitors at a new home in Veranda at University Club this Saturday, May 21, as part of the Capital Region Builders Association’s annual Parade of Homes.

Brown, who designed the home featured in the cover story of inRegister’s current issue, is also known for his stint as a host on HGTV, TLC and Fine Living. For the Veranda development, created by Bardwell Homes, Brown is working with homeowners to customize their homes “from floors to finish.”

Brown will be at the home located at 3116 Veranda View from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Veranda contains 68 homes that the developers say feature “traditional Southern style with a modern flair, spacious porches and ample community green space.” Bardwell Homes is also behind the local developments called Long Farm Village and Highland District at Magnolia Square.

The Parade of Homes gives attendees a chance to tour new homes and developments of all sizes and styles around the Baton Rouge area. More than 50 homes are open for this year’s event, which began last weekend and continues this Saturday, May 21, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, May 22, from 1 to 5 p.m. For more details, view the digital version of the Parade of Homes magazine online. Attendees can also download the event’s mobile app, which features addresses and details, by texting “CRBA” to the number 52732.
