Tile Time: Creative bathroom tile inspiration from the inRegister archives
When it comes to designing bathrooms, practicality is often the priority. But what about the style? Using the inRegister archives, we have rounded up spaces where local designers got creative with the tile in bathroom design, showcasing how intentional picks can instantly elevate a room.
With a black marble bathtub as the star of this bathroom, designer Helene Dellocono lightened the space with these light pink tiles, creating an encapsulating space full of contrast.
In this bathroom designed by Hillary Hooper, each tile has its own time to shine. From the shower tile’s natural variation in shades of blue to the individually installed star-and-cross terracotta floor tiles, the room is a handcrafted oasis.
For the bathroom in this “over the top and feminine” home, designer Rachel Cannon was sure to pull out all the stops to make the space feel as fabulous as possible. From the vanity to a spacious wet room, she carried a full tile backsplash through the archway, creating a cohesive flow.
In the above-garage apartment of a Baton Rouge home, designer Dan Bergeron transformed the playroom’s adjacent bathroom into a circus-inspired space with red and white striped subway tiles.
In this home full of different shapes, patterns and textures, the visual interest surely didn’t stop at the primary bathroom. Designed by Rachel Cannon, the space is filled with geometric shapes and tiling that create continuity with the rest of the home while highlighting a contrast with the shower’s marble backsplash and the vanity’s countertops.
