Holiday open house; Trunk show at LSU Museum of Art; Caroling in City Park

Holiday open house at West Baton Rouge Museum

This Sunday, Dec. 7, the West Baton Rouge Museum in Port Allen is holding a Louisiana-themed open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Guests of all ages can enjoy hot apple cider, gingerbread, craft activities, storybook readings, and open-hearth cooking demonstrations. In addition, a traditional 19th-century holiday tableau will take place at the Aillet House, and children are welcome to help Papa Noel find his mischievous elves hiding around the grounds. The event is free.


Trunk show at LSU Museum of Art

The LSU Museum of Art is hosting a trunk show Friday, Dec. 5, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Local artists as well as former LSU athletes will be on hand to autograph purchases. Those who go will receive 25% off one item and have the opportunity to bid on silent auction items.


Caroling in City Park

Christmas bells are ringing and BREC’s fifth annual Caroling in City Park is just around the corner. Join in the holiday spirit and sing along next Thursday, Dec. 11, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at City-Brooks Community Park. The event will feature a park lighting ceremony, performances by caroling groups, and family activities for all ages. The public is welcome to attend for free. Call 272-9200 with questions.
