Olive with a Twist at LSU MOA
Vintage cocktails get new life
Head to the LSU Museum of Art tonight to hear Gay Leonhardt give a gallery talk about her grandmother’s book, Shaking Up Prohibition in New Orleans: Authentic Vintage Cocktails from A to Z, published by LSU Press.
The LSU MOA, LSU Press and Forum 35 are presenting the event, dubbed “Olive with a Twist” after the name of its co-author, Olive Leonhardt, tonight, July 16, at 6 p.m. Think: 1920s, New Orleans and prohibition—though as the book will tell you, few paid attention to the law back then. At the event, you can try recipes straight from the book. The bar will be mixing up specialty drinks.
The event is free and open to the public. The book will be available for purchase for $19.95, and Gay Leonhardt will be signing copies.
