When planning her baby shower, Eboni Buchanan knew she wanted something sophisticated. Enlisting the help of party planner Victoria Roberts of VAR Events, Buchanan’s dusty blue brunch incorporated small baby boy details without going overboard.

“Mom-to-be didn’t want the shower to be too on theme, so we added small touches of ‘baby’ through the tiny teddy bears on each place setting, and the dusty blue color palette incorporated throughout the decorations,” Roberts says.

The baby shower brunch also brought together many friends who’ve been living far apart. With about 50 guests in attendance, the event was a homecoming for many who flew in from places such as DC or “the other” LA. “Guests were greeted with mimosas upon arrival, and everyone happily mingled, because many hadn’t seen each other in years,” Roberts says.
