This Thursday is your final chance to submit to our Dog Days of Summer contest

Considering the fact that a whole academic niche exists to extrapolate the meanings behind dogs in art, we think it’s safe to say that our canine companions have long held a beloved place in human culture—plus, well, they’re just so dang cute to look at. Alas, no Louisiana museum exists specifically to honor these furry faces (yet), so we at inRegister are taking the task into our hands once more.

Got a mutt that loves to mug? Then send his photos our way for this year’s Dog Days of Summer Contest, where we ask people across Baton Rouge to share pics and stories of their dogs for a possible feature in our upcoming July issue.

Here’s how you can enter your pet:

  1. Email [email protected] with just a few sentences about why your dog is the best.

  2. Include a high-resolution photo of your dog.

  3. Please include your dog’s name and its breed, if you know it.

  4. Include your own first and last name.

  5. Send it all in by Thursday, June 10.

The winning canines will earn a spot in the issue, with other favorite pups featured in our inRegister@Home newsletter, as well as on our Instagram page. Be sure to follow along for all of the action.
