Got gown questions? These local professionals have answers

How do you suggest brides balance trends with timelessness?

Nikki Vu: It’s all about incorporating classic elements with trendy touches, such as a statement veil or jewelry. The most current trend is sleek, minimal, clean and chic styles. Most of our brides want their dress to feel classic and timeless but with a modern twist. You do not have to incorporate all the trends for your wedding day, especially in your dress. I always remind my brides to wear the dress that feels the most unique to their personal style and makes them feel beautiful and confident. I highly recommend trusting your personal style and preferences rather than feeling pressured to follow or incorporate every trend.

Who should accompany a bride to her appointment?

Marie Gilley: A bride should limit the number of people she brings to an appointment to only immediate family, such as the mother of the bride and groom or someone whose opinion you value. The more guests you bring, the more opinions you will have, causing you to get confused. You must remember it
is your dress and the gown that makes you feel beautiful on your special day.

What is the most important thing for brides to keep in mind when they are working on a custom wedding day look?

Pedram Taheri: I always tell brides to enjoy the journey to your big day, trust the process and be open-minded about the unique creation we have been bringing to life together. Every girl has dreamed of their wedding day, so close your eyes
and see yourself walking down the aisle. What do you see yourself wearing? We all dream, and we at Pedram Couture make that dream into a reality.

What is your advice to an indecisive bride?

Sarah Jeansone Wampler: We remind our brides to focus on what’s important: finding a gown that represents their best self. Many gowns can accomplish this, but we truly believe that the best one will separate itself from the rest and rise to the top in the bride’s mind. Our job is to recognize when this happens and help guide her decision. Don’t stress! It’s easy.
