No classic red trucks can be found in the holiday home that graces the cover of our December issue. And while we love the classic Hallmark movie vibe, holiday decorator Melissa Laney demonstrates that mistletoe and fake snow doesn’t always have to make the cut, and that’s OK.

Brooke and Doug Bickley’s University Club home glistens with Christmas spirit while sticking to the home’s modern roots. Laney and her mom, Jan, worked with the Bickley family to create the perfect “nontraditional traditional'” Christmas wonderland throughout the entire home, from its living areas to the courtyard and front doors.
