Bergeron’s City Market opens on Jefferson Highway

Chef Don Bergeron may have closed his Mid City Market last Christmas Eve, but now his culinary expertise has made its way farther down Jefferson Highway with the opening of Bergeron’s City Market earlier this week.

Since closing Mid City Market, Bergeron has continued operating Chef Don Bergeron Enterprises, the gourmet catering offshoot of his company that began in 2004. Now, just two miles south of his former market, all of his food and beverage operations can sit under the same roof again.

“With 5,000 square feet to accommodate our kitchen and market, ample and convenient customer parking, spacious seating for over 70 people, not to mention an expanded product line, our new location has everything we wanted to enhance service to our customers,” Bergeron says.

The market houses a wide variety of specialty and gourmet cuisine options for any occasion, including fresh or frozen “take and bake” entrees, soups, gumbos, casseroles, appetizers, desserts, salads, sides and more. Anyone short on time can stop by and pick up ready-made entrees for lunch or dinner. A “catering-to-go” menu also serves as a one-stop shop for catering special events.

Bergeron’s City Market’s hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Friday, serving hot plate lunches from 11 a.m. to 2p.m. and dinners from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a brunch menu served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
