From the April issue: Kismet for a cause

With the Lauren Savoy Olinde Foundation’s annual Hat Run only a couple of weeks behind us, take a look back at our April issue to learn more about one of the names contributing to the cause: Kismet Cosmetics.

Kismet founder and LSU graduate Caitlin Picou started her beauty brand on the success of a single bronzing lotion (and its power to provide a summer glow without cancer-causing rays). Soon, her range expanded into lipsticks and illuminators that please a plethora of skin tones—and with a heart for service, too, donating some of her proceeds to several charities and nonprofits.

Not only does Picou design her products with affordability in mind, but she also formulates them without parabens, gluten, phthalates or animal testing, which means that customers can invest in a pretty pout without settling for sub-par ingredients.

To learn more about Picou’s personal history and the story behind her brand, check out our article from the April issue, available on newsstands now.
