Few LSU Football players are as well known as the legendary Billy Cannon. Even more people came to know him after his publicized fall from grace following a federal counterfeiting conviction. Now, a new documentary, titled Circles: The Life of Billy Cannon, highlights his life, from humble beginnings to a hard-earned comeback.

“This is so much more than an LSU Football story,” writes Colleen Spillane, promotions manager for Louisiana Public Broadcasting. “This documentary tells the whole story of the fame, the fall and the redemption.”

Candid interviews with family, friends, teammates and more detail his riveting life. “My father was a complicated man who made mistakes, paid a tremendous price for them, and then spent the rest of his life working to become a better person,” says Billy’s daughter, Bunnie Cannon.

With one of Cannon’s most legendary football moments taking place during the LSU vs. Ole Miss game on Halloween night in 1959, the anticipation of the upcoming game offers an ideal time to learn more about the sports legend. Told by those who were there and knew him best, including former LSU quarterback Warren Rabb and former Ole Miss football players, this documentary allows viewers to understand the full story, from iconic football moments to fatherhood and redemption.
