This ace of a party celebrated a little one’s second birthday
Game. Set. Birthday. This tennis-themed kids’ party is the ideal combination of fun and style. Throwing a party this good takes some planning, and that’s why Taylor Jacobs enlisted the help of Sunny Harden. Harden’s event rental company, Jeaux Jumps, has been providing party classics such as bounce houses, signage, and customized pieces since 2021. And this party showcases Harden’s talent for bringing a party plan to life.
From the personalized tennis table décor to the racquet club-inspired backdrop, the personalized details made this party a grand slam. Keep reading to hear from Harden about how she put this party together.
What aspects were important to you in executing the tennis theme?
The key element was the backdrop. We wanted to include a court concept without using a physical tennis court. My husband and I recreated a court backdrop in a simple, clean way. We focused on the colors, which included a lot of deep green paired with soft pink, all throughout the party.
The birthday girl’s mom, Taylor Jacobs, got creative with several details. She created vases from tennis balls that included florals. We also tied in some racquets on the tables to make the whole setup cohesive and consistent with the color palette.
How did you connect with the tennis party?
The mother of this party was a tennis player herself. She’s hoping her daughter will follow suit, and so far, it seems she is taking a liking to it. Once she told me about that, I felt like I understood her world and the elements that she would want to include for this party.
We selected personalized tennis bags as party favors. They included towels with each kid’s initials stitched on them. I love personalized gifts like that. When everyone left, it felt like they might’ve actually played a tennis match. It was super important to both of us to make sure the guests felt special.
What is your favorite part of being involved in parties like this one?
I love bringing my ideas and the client’s ideas together. With this client in particular, we’ve partnered on many parties, and she always has a ton of ideas. It’s all about seeing their vision and trimming it down to make it realistic. You have to be smart about what you can actually execute.
Taylor is super laid-back and very understanding during the planning process. She shows me the space and her ideas, and we do our best to make that happen. The most exciting part is when it all starts coming together, as the client envisioned. For this party, the second we started taking pictures, it was clear this was what we wanted.

What advice do you have for parents who want to host a similar party?
Think about what’s important. You should ask yourself, “How do I celebrate my child in a positive and fun way that makes sense to them?” Even when the child is young, you want to prioritize the child and what they enjoy; that’s why we offer things like bounce houses.
I always want to make sure the party has a very clean, Pinterest board-worthy look, while also making sure the kids will remember having fun. When my daughter was young, we would have parties for her like this, and she remembers every single one.
It’s also important to allow other people to help. You don’t have to DIY every time. If someone can help you, tell them your vision and trust them to execute it. Also shop locally! For this party, we used many local vendors, and they were all so professional.
