The Wild Wine Walk that Baton Rouge knows and loves is getting a makeover for its fifth anniversary. BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo will present Roar & Pour on Friday, May 2, from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
Those who are 21 or older can enjoy an evening of craft cocktails, food samples from local restaurants and live music. All proceeds from the after-hours fundraiser will support conservation, education and animal well-being at BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo.

Are you ready to meet your new best friend? Cara’s House is hosting a pet adoption event on Saturday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Gorman Bros. Those not quite ready to adopt can support the animal shelter by attending and enjoying the coffee truck, snowballs and raffle.
Taking in nearly 3,000 animals per year, Cara’s House works as a nonprofit organization to provide the best care possible for these cuddly creatures until they find their forever home.

Wrap up the weekend with a sweet treat for you and your four-legged friend. La Divina Italian Cafe will be serving up Gelato Love for Dogs on Sunday, May 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. Supporting the Capital Area Animal Welfare Society (CAAWS), this event will have adoptions (weather permitting) and free gelato for any donations of $5 or more.
Serving Baton Rouge since 1979, CAAWS is a nonprofit organization committed to sheltering animals and educating the community on responsible pet ownership and treatment. Donations, as well as 25% of all La Divina sales during the event, will benefit the shelter.
