Room Tour: Pink and green create a playful paradise in this nursery

When creating a nursery, local designer Emily Wood lets her imagination run wild.

As this project began to take shape, Wood gave her clients two potential designs. The first leaned plain, with white walls, blue trim and green fabric accents with a gender-neutral aim. “In the beginning, they didn’t know if they wanted a more gender neutral and serene vibe, or something more bold and girly,” Wood explains.

When the couple saw the second option from Wood, there was no question that it was the room for them and their little one. The playful pink and green nursery came to life, starting with the floral panels hanging behind the crib.

“I wanted the floral panels to be the focal point, so it was important that the other textures, colors and fabrics could blend nicely with the wallpaper, while not overpowering the space,” she says.

While a neutral nursery is always a classic, this space proves that daring designs are often worth the risk.
