Celebrate 30 years of the Red Stick Farmers Market next week

The Red Stick Farmers Market is a downtown Baton Rouge cornerstone and one of the Capital City’s most beloved weekly fixtures. To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Big River Economic and Agricultural Development Alliance (BREADA), the nonprofit organization that powers the Red Stick Farmers Market and Main Street Market, will host a weeklong celebration November 2-7.

The commemoration will kick off with a series of lunchtime pop-ups at Main Street Market and culminate in a special anniversary farmers market on Saturday, November 7, featuring an arts market, a Cocha cash-bar pop-up, live music from the John Gray Jazz Band, and activities for the whole family.

Customers who dine at participating restaurants can collect punches by purchasing featured Eat Local Week menu items. Then, they can bring their completed cards to the Red Stick Farmers Market on Saturday, November 7, for a chance to win a prize. Participants who eat at three participating restaurants can win an anniversary-edition tote bag.

Participating restaurants include: Houmas House, Vivian’s Rotisserie & Grill, The Cozy Griddle, River & Roots Market, Sapor Indian Fusion, Eliza’s Restaurant & Bar, Danny’s Dive Bar, Iverstine Farms Butcher, Hayride Scandal and Cocha
