Blue hues are set to dominate the design world in 2024

There are only so many predictions you can make as far as what will trend in the coming year. From new fashion statements to upcoming artists, it’s hard to keep up with the ever-changing world of design and what is “in.” To keep your home up-to-date in the new year, we’re breaking down the top paint color predictions for 2024.

If there’s one shade that we will definitely be seeing more of, it’s blue. With paint brands like Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore, Valspar and more choosing unique blue blends for their 2024 colors of the year, we trust the experts on this one.

Sherwin Williams’ light blue, titled “Upward,” is the most approachable shade of the three and should be a crowd favorite for interior design in the new year. This light and happy hue can bring that trendy coastal grandma vibe to your home while still maintaining a sleek and clean look.

The Director of Color Marketing for Sherwin Williams, Sue Wadden, says, “We knew lighter tones were going to be important in 2024 and 2025 and we wanted to forecast the shift from earthy neutrals to lighter expressions and a light blue like Upward SW 6239 told that story very well.”

With blue already a favorite in Baton roUGe, we can’t wait to see new interpretations on this tried-and-true color choice in the coming year.
