From the February issue: Three sisters make beautiful music together

Addie, Katie and Gaylyn Foto aren’t just average sisters who happen to share the same hobby. Unless “average” means studying multiple classical instruments from the time they were six years old, performing on nationally respected stages, or recording several studio albums before they’ve had time to reach a quarter-life crisis.

Professionally known as the Foto Sisters, the girls usually perform as a trio specializing in viola, violin and cello, respectively. They also all play the piano and sing in harmony, a musical combination that led to successful Christmas concerts in Baton Rouge and Louisiana last year. The theme and timing of those events suited their talents well, since part of the Foto Sisters’ mission involves practicing their Christian faith by inspiring others with song.

“We want to be able to bless other and minister to others through our music,” Addie says.

Meanwhile, they have studied under the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra and national groups like the Harlem Quartet and are members of the Rapides Symphony Orchestra.

To find out what the Foto Sisters have planned for their future, as well as what family members and mentors have to say about their early success, check out the cover story of the February issue of inRegister, available on newsstands now.
