LSU MOA turns on the lights for Museum After Dark

After rescheduling the original event due to inclement weather, the LSU Museum of Art is ready to team up with Old New Orleans Rum again for Museum After Dark, a evening of music mingling and to complement the museum’s reinstallation of the permanent collection, dubbed Art in Louisiana: Views into the Collection.

Old New Orleans Rum will provide a rum tasting and cocktails for the event next Thursday, March 31, with the museum opening at 6 p.m.

Museum After Dark will also coincide with a free performance of “Nightmares are Dreams Too” by Camilla Morrison, an MFA candidate in LSU’s Costume Technology & Design. The performance will take place in the galleries, allowing audience members to get up close to the action. Each piece of handmade costume explores different challenges that women face in the world today and reflect the artist’s personal history.

Ticket prices are $5 for museum members and $15 for non-members and can be purchased at the Museum Store, at the door or by calling 225-389-7210.
