While floodwaters have long been gone, the devastation they caused will take a while to fully disappear. Most people are in the various stages of renovating their homes, so the Baton Rouge General has organized an event designed to help people move forward with their renovations.

The Life’s a Canvas: Home Edition event will be held next Thursday, October 20, at the Baton Rouge General at 5:30 p.m. HGTV home renovation expert Holly Baker will lead attendees through a DIY project and group discussions about home renovations. The free event will also include food, live music and a panel of physician and emotional health experts who will talk about emotional health and wellness.

“As someone who love’s Louisiana’s people and culture, I was heartbroken to hear about the devastating floods in the Baton Rouge area,” Baker said. “After getting so many requests for tips and ideas about remodeling their flooded homes, I knew this opportunity with Baton Rouge General was a great way to help people take control of their rebuilding efforts.”
