#TakeoutTuesday: Local restaurants offer packaged versions of signature flavors

The dilemma of our days: to stay in or to eat out? The compromise: takeout. Sometimes, cooking seems like too great of a task and the burden of getting dressed to dine in public doesn’t make things any simpler. Thankfully, there’s takeout, the silent hero of the American dinner. But if you want to incorporate a local restaurant’s beloved ingredients and dishes into your own home-cooked meal, you can do that too.

Since the pandemic began, restaurants around town have been coming up with new ways for patrons to bring their favorite dishes into their own homes–all bottled or boxed up at the checkout and ready for you to grab and go. From BLDG 5’s DIY meal starters and Chow Yum Phat’s “Crack Crunch” topping to Anthony’s Italian Deli’s olive salad by the pound, there are new opportunities to enjoy the flavors of favorite local eateries from the comfort of our own kitchens.

Our sister publication 225 magazine rounded up a handful of local restaurants offering new ways to enjoy their cuisine alongside your own cooking at home. Check out the full list here, or pick up 225’s August issue on newsstands.
