What to do this weekend: Plant and Seed Swap at the Main Library
While fall’s approach makes us think of barren branches and changing colors, the upcoming season is one of the best times in Louisiana to get out in the garden. Once summer has passed, the heat won’t scorch the plants you are growing, and it won’t torch you as you tend to the garden, either.
Sharing their love of newly sprouted seedlings, local garden enthusiasts will gather at the Plant and Seed Swap at the Main Library at Goodwood on Saturday, August 29, inviting the Baton Rouge community to bring and trade their garden treasures. From 10 a.m. to noon, plant lovers can work on growing their garden assortment while meeting like-minded individuals and expanding their network and knowledge related to all things gardening.
In addition, the library supports gardeners through its Seed Libraries, available at 11 branch locations, where anyone can pick up free seeds for planting. Happy gardening!
