How do you make a hotel room feel like a home?
“For me, unpacking is the biggest thing. The second I arrive, I take everything out of my suitcase and start putting it away. Another thing I do is bring a candle to every hotel I stay at. My friends make fun of me, but a familiar scent will definitely make a place feel more like home.”
What do you like to do during long layovers?
“If you have a really long layover, I suggest buying a day pass to the airport lounges. It certainly always makes it easier for me because you can be comfortable while you wait. Always bring something to read and something to listen to; you really just want to pass the time.”
What is a common travel myth you would like to debunk?
“People think that booking a travel advisor is a luxury, but it isn’t. The goal for any good travel advisor is to work within the client’s budget. Advisors can help you stay on your budget and plan efficiently.
Travel advisors also have firsthand knowledge of an area that can actually help you save money. Finding hotels that are within walking distance of attractions and have complimentary services is a big thing. Advisors often get special rates on certain things that will make your trip cheaper.
Having someone with connections is so helpful. If there is a problem at the hotel, you can call the advisor to figure it out. They aren’t just booking you anywhere; these are places that are trusted and have personal experiences with.”
What is your favorite hidden gem destination?

“Prague is one of my favorite cities. It is truly magical, and I would go back again and again. It’s easy to get to, and there is a lot of stuff to do. It is celebrated for its timeless allure, romantic ambiance and lively beer culture. We are seeing more people gravitate toward these Eastern European places because there is so much history, and they want something new. It really is a special city.”
