Residents of Bossier City, Mandeville and Shreveport may already be familiar with Simply Chic, a chain of fashion boutiques whose individual locations still exude the personalities of their owners and geography. Soon, Baton Rouge can see for itself what all the fuss is about now that Kelley Miglicco has opened a location on Highland Road.

Miglicco says she wants her shop to be “bigger than business.” She was inspired to live out her dreams of opening her a boutique after suffering the death of her daughter in 2011 and dealing with her son’s open heart surgery in 2013 and her father’s ALS diagnosis. She hopes to inspire others to do the same.

“I want people to feel comfortable and at home in this store,” she says. “I understand how life is.”

She also understands the need for an otherwise thriving boutique market to make its way to the “other side of Highland Road,” a fast-growing slice of town beside Alexander’s Market, Smoothie King and Zoe’s Kitchen. Anyone who enjoys eclectic flair with a touch of glam will enjoy the personalized service and mid-range prices of Simply Chic.
