Social Butterflies: Springtime fun for kids at Burden Museum and Gardens
Spring weather has arrived in Baton Rouge, and there is no better time to go outside. LSU AgCenter Burden Museum and Gardens is helping parents make the most of the season with a slate of springtime events.
The Junior League of Baton Rouge will host StoryTime in the Garden on April 11 and May 9 from 9 a.m. until noon. The event is open to all, but best suited for young children, ages 3 to 8. Every 30 minutes, a new activity is made available, offering a fun, engaging experience. Admission is free, and no registration is required for StoryTime in the Garden.
Families are also welcome to enjoy the StoryWalk in the Garden at any time, which features pages from a children’s book to read as you walk along the 0.1 mile trail.
For those in the mood to party, the East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners invites families to celebrate pollinators during the Children’s Garden Party from 9 to 11 a.m on April 18. This hands-on event will include a pollinator‑themed scavenger hunt, live beehive demonstrations, seedball making, garden‑themed races, interactive stations throughout the garden and much more. Admission is free, but registration is required for the Children’s Garden Party.
