The Vault is back: Find consignment gowns and eveningwear now at Baubles
In a glittery nook at Baubles Boutique, an array of designer dresses and eveningwear offers plenty of options for any special occasion.
The Vault is a luxury consignment resource in Baton Rouge that sells gowns, cocktail and formal attire. Owner Dallas Cockrell recently relaunched the concept, which had previously operated as a pop-up. Now, it’s a permanent fixture within Baubles, offering pre-loved, high-quality pieces a new life.

When did you take over The Vault?
The previous owners started The Vault a few years ago, and they closed it down in 2025. I got a call in February 2026 asking if I would be interested in taking over, and honestly, I knew the moment they asked me that I was going to say yes! I think many of us have wanted the opportunity to buy and resell our ballgowns for a long time. Baton Rouge has a lot of events, and so many of us try not to re-wear pieces. I love shopping. I love a sale. And I also love the thought of someone new enjoying a piece that was special to me. Our ballgowns and event attire are too beautiful to be worn only once, plus consignment is having a moment, and I think we are all ready for it!
What can customers expect from the inventory and experience?
We want to keep it very intentional and exciting by featuring select pieces throughout the year. Every couple of weeks, you can expect a new collection to go on the floor, depending on the season and the events coming up. For now, we accept Venmo and cash, and if I’m not there, a Baubles team member will be there to help you.
How does the consignment process work for those looking to sell?
We are true consignment, so we don’t purchase items up front. A customer interested in selling their dresses will bring them to Baubles and fill out an intake form listing each item they would like to try and sell, plus any helpful details (e.g., whether a dress is brand new/only been worn once, alterations, original cost, etc.).
From there, I go through the dresses and price them based on the brand, age and condition. I’ll also identify any I’m not confident selling or that doesn’t fit our criteria.
Then, depending on the time of year and upcoming events, we will feature your pieces on the floor. They don’t sit out full-time, which is important to keep in mind. For instance, I wouldn’t put a summer cocktail dress on the floor in December, but I will hold on to it until the season is right, and then it will get its shining moment!
Items need to be cleaned when you bring them in, and we won’t take more than 10 pieces at a time. Once an item sells, a portion goes to the seller, and a portion stays with The Vault. After a year, we will donate the items we aren’t confident will sell (unless you clarify on your intake form that you’d like to pick them back up) and give those that we think still have a good chance to sell another year.
This idea began a few years ago, and you recently brought it back. How has The Vault evolved over the years?
When The Vault first started, I believe it was focused mostly on ballgowns. Awareness spread by word of mouth, and the goal was to keep everything very hush-hush to protect both buyers and sellers. I agree with that approach, which is why you’ll very rarely, if ever, see me advertise who is selling the dress, or feature the women who have purchased a gown from The Vault.
I really want The Vault to be accessible to anyone and everyone! When I took over, I knew I wanted to have a regular presence on Instagram so people could find me when they needed me. My goal when I started was to eventually add cocktail and event attire to our inventory, and I also knew I wanted a more permanent setup one day to increase the opportunity for every beautiful piece to sell!
I’ve focused on keeping the clothing high-end. I love an everyday throw-on-and-go dress just as much as the next mom, but The Vault is for special pieces. When we decide what to keep for sale, we focus on the brand and the quality of the clothing. Today, The Vault is high-end consignment for ballgowns, cocktail dresses and event attire.
Why did you choose Baubles for your storefront?
I’ve been friends with Ashley Thibaut, the owner of Baubles, since I moved here in 2018. She opened the store in 2021, and I’ve joked with her ever since that one day I would end up working with her there. Turns out, I was right!
Ashley offered to host a pop-up for The Vault the moment I took over. It’s really a dream partnership. We accessorize our Vault pieces with Baubles accessories, and Ashley and I have had a lot of fun collaborating on social media together. I am almost 6 ft. tall, and she barely clears 5 ft., so we make the perfect pair for showing how different pieces fit! I hope everyone who visits Baubles and The Vault experiences the joy it brings me every day. Ashley and her team are wonderful, and we are lucky to be partnering with all of them!
What can we expect from The Vault in the near future?
I’ve started offering private shopping appointments where I pull a collection of pieces and accessories from The Vault and Baubles for you to try on. We are continuing to fine-tune the brands we accept for consignment to keep our collections unique and high-end. And while I haven’t started donating dresses yet, I’m working on finding the perfect place for your special pieces to go so they can make a positive impact on someone else.
Keep up with The Vault by following them on Instagram.
