For the fourth year,TOTAL Petrochemicals was the top producing team for the Marchof Dimes’ March for Babies. Team members raised an impressive$50,000 during the April 5 walk.
The TOTAL teamwas one of several teams and other volunteers honored atthe annual March for Babies Awards Dinner May 27 atOak Lodge Reception Center. Development director Kathryn Mixon thanked themall for helping meet MOD’s $300,000 goal.
Those thankswere echoed by march chairman Darian Chustz of Baton RougeCoca-Cola Bottling Co., whose team came in sixth place.The other top 10 teams included, in order, Infamedics, Entergy(also won t-shirt design competition), Iberville Bank &Trust, Jacobs Engineering, Louisiana State Police, Department of Health &Hospitals, Office of Student Financial Assistance and the East BatonRouge Parish Clerk of Court.
The top family team wasTeam Tiger Tots. Winners in the school competition were CentralHigh School, Jefferson Terrace Elementary and KinderCare.
This year’s HorizonAward, which goes to a new team, went to StarmountLife Insurance. The Spirit Award went to both the Officeof Student Financial Assistance and the 1119th DSB - USArmy Reserves.
Recognized as Volunteers of the Year were DonWeinman, Larry Washington, C.J. Guillory, Tangela Green, Nicole Fox,Committee- TOTAL Petrochemicals committee and the Mu Zeta chapter ofZeta Phi Beta.
Taking home Battered Boot awards for theirindividual efforts were Randy Ashley, Stephanie Boudreaux, Debbie Broussard, TaylorDicharry, Brian Duboy, Christie Chapman, Norrie Falgoust, Mark Grayson, HeatherHolloway, Whitney Johnson, Amanda Juneau, Charles Ladner, Ben Morton, BethMorton, Emily Nevarez, Andrea Perry, Khaki Pittman, Mathilde Rivera, WandaSeneca, Kimberly Smith, Michelle Sziber Jo Ann Tompson, Margaret Vigerand Courtney Yoes.
