Community Muscular Dystrophy Association – Greater Baton Rouge (MDA)held its third annual Winter Wine Down Dec. 4 atthe Hilton Capitol Center. A group of 15 hosts helpedmake the event a success once again, raising $90,000for MDA. Hosts included Darrell Amar Jr., Dana Brown, Secretaryof State Jay Dardenne, Angelle Levatino Klar, Brandon Landry, BrentLeBlanc, Chad Major, Patrick Mockler, Darrell Ourso, Nick Rauber, BrockRoberts, Charles Smith, Jim Taylor, Edwin Tucker and Damon Wood.The evening included food, drinks and music from Water’s Edge.Proceeds from the event fund projects such as Camp Sunshine,which offers a wide range of activities tailored to theneeds of children ages 6-17 living with muscular dystrophyand related diseases. Supporters gathered together at the annual eventto recognize and praise the Greater Baton Rouge Literacy Coalition’sefforts. Those attending were among the first to view thenew “Reality of Literacy” public service announcement, created byZachary High School students Morgan Albert and Claire Davis.
