Kids galaNov. 17 at the Old Governor’s Mansion.
Secretary of StateJay Dardenne served as master of
ceremonies for the evening,which included musical
performances, a silent auction and a liveauction.
This year’s honorees were John and Carolyn Carnahan.
TheSunshine Foundation prints and distributes
the book You Are Sunshineto all kindergarten students
in the state.
This year’s recipientsof the 47th annual Brotherhood &
Sisterhood Award were Dr.Myrtle E. B. Dorsey and Dr. Christel
Slaughter. The awardrecognizes outstanding individuals in the
Greater Baton Rouge community whohave devoted their professional,
philanthropic, and volunteer capacities to humanitarianservice. Held at the Hilton Capital Center Nov. 19, adinner was
chaired by Stephen Toups of Turner Industries andcohosted by
100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge andForum 35.
