Krewe Mystique de la Capitale“If I had known this was going to happen,I probably would have had a little more to drink,”Mary Mitchum said jokingly upon learning she would be “queen.”
Fortunately, she overcame her shyness in time for herreign.
Krewe Mystique de la Capitale held its annual KingCake Party Jan. 16 at the Crowne Plaza. The luckyfew who found babies in their slice of king cakewere whisked away to dress in proper regalia before beingpresented as the krewe’s mock court.
After a traditional secondline and a gift of Krewe Mystique de la Capitalechampagne to each member of the mock court, the eveningcontinued with music from Clay Boudreaux.
The krewe’s parade isset to roll downtown Feb. 14.
