The day began with an interfaith serviceat St. Joseph Cathedral, followed by the inauguration ceremony atthe River Center Theatre for the Performing Arts. Holden receivedthe oath of office from Louisiana Supreme Court Justice CatherineD. “Kitty” Kimball and U.S. District Court JudgeRalph E. Tyson. Louisiana Secretary of State Jay Dardenne servedas master of ceremonies. That evening, a formal reception washeld at the River Center Exhibition Hall Galleria, with entertainmentby the Herman Jackson Trio followed by a performance fromGrammy award winning artist Terrance Simien.
