First Louisiana location coming to Mall of Louisiana

Savvy shoppers, listen up. Nordstrom Rack will officially open in Baton Rouge Thursday, Oct. 1, at 9 a.m. The discount retailer will be located at the Mall of Louisiana in the detached shopping center with Dick’s Sporting Goods, DSW and Kirklands.

Opening day for the store will kick off with music, coffee and breakfast treats, says Jessica Canfield of the Nordstrom Rack public relations division. Those who go can enter a raffle for a chance to win one of 30 gift cards ranging from $100 to $1,000, and the first 1,000 customers to make a purchase will receive a free Nordstrom Rack tote.

“We are thrilled to join the Mall of Louisiana, which is really a destination for customers in the area and an excellent mix of retail, entertainment and restaurants,” says Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack. “We can’t wait to open our doors to introduce customers to fashion at great prices.”

This will be the first Nordstrom Rack in Louisiana.

“We select Rack locations based on a number of factors including location, accessibility and what other retail and entertainment options are in close proximity,” says Canfield. “The Mall of Louisiana is a fantastic shopping destination and great fit for us.”

Shoppers will be able to browse discount shoes, clothing and accessories in the 30,000-square-foot space. The store will be open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. A new Nordstrom Rack location at Ambassador Town Center in Lafayette is scheduled to open in spring 2016.
