Here comes Peter Cottontail: A garden-fresh baby shower

Fresh from the garden, this baby shower happily heralded a new member of the family with details that would make anyone want to jump Mr. McGregor’s fence for an afternoon snack. From the floral-stuffed wagons and wheelbarrows to the Some Bunny Loves You veggie-shaped sugar cookies, no detail was spared. And this was a great thing, because the details are still being used.

“After I suggested the Peter Rabbit theme for the shower, the mom decided to decorate her son’s room using Peter Rabbit,” says Angela Divincenti Babin of Angela Marie events. “I ended up giving her all the pretty Peter Rabbit elements—the lamp, books, blocks and bib—that all look so sweet in his room!”

Here radishes, carrots, eggplant and leafy greens helped decorate the table along with garden roses and other potted delights. Guest went home with canned veggies labeled “Thank for hopping by!” It was a garden feast for the eyes and taste buds—just perfect to welcome a baby in bloom.
